Joel is a proud graduate of Howard University and returned volunteer with the Peace Corps. He was born and raised in the Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia. Joel is thrilled to serve as a crew leader for the inaugural group of PowerCorpsPHL because of the role he gets to play in shaping the culture of this organization, which he anticipates is bound to have a long lasting impact in Philadelphia. The attributes he aims to bring to PowerCorpsPHL include compassion, leadership, and his dedication to service. In looking to the future, Joel eagerly looks forward to welcoming and working with future PowerCorpsPHL cohorts.

Joshua strives to be friendly and easy to get along with. He always gives 100% to the work that he does. He aims to never give up and is excited to set a high standard of excellent work for future PowerCorpsPHL members to aspire to match. Joshua hopes that one year from now, he will either be working a full-time job or attending school to become an auto mechanic.

Tisa is proud of her communication skills, effectiveness and ability to be a true team player. She loves her team and enjoys working outdoors.  She is excited that through working with PowerCorpsPHL, she has found work that she excels at and enjoys. Tisa hopes to one day be a bio-technician.

Michael brings a hard working nature to his crew. He considers himself to be both an effective leader and team player. Michael is most excited for this opportunity to learn new things and knows that his PowerCorpsPHL members and leaders will always support him.

Sarah aspires to eventually work in the Parks and Recreation Department and loves working with her crew to beautify Philadelphia.  She is most proud of her ability to work as a flexible, hard-working and integral member of her team.

Proudest aspect of working with PowerCorpsPHL so far:  Feeling comfortable interacting with his fellow crew members.

Brandon plans to pursue a career in environmental services. He prides himself as a people person. He  three qualities he is most proud of are being able to express himself, being considered a people person, and working well with a team. To Brandon, the best part of being a PowerCorpsPHL founding Corps member is the opportunity to make the environment greener while receiving a second chance.

Tikir is an 18 year old recruited from PYN’s E3 Centers. He loves learning new things and has already made many new and interesting friends. Tikir truly loves to help others and works hard to cooperate with the rest of his group. One year from now Tikir plans to be working in a tattoo parlor and continuing to keep his life on track.
