To Juan Matos, service work and environmental work means giving back to the community. Juan was a member in Cohort 3 on Pat Edouardo’s Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) crew. He came back as Assistant Crew Leader to Pat Edouardo in Cohort 4 with Water Inc. Now, Juan is employed as a Landscape Technician with Cedar Run Landscapes. Along with typical landscaping duties, like cutting grass, collecting leaves, and building patios, he is responsible for building rain gardens and ponds. Juan applies the knowledge he gained doing GSI work with PowerCorpsPHL with his new position at Cedar Run Landscapes. Juan says without PowerCorpsPHL he would not be where his is today. PowerCorpsPHL introduced him to GSI and helped him believe that even with a criminal record, you have a chance to turn your life around. PowerCorpsPHL made Juan come out of his comfort zone and showed him he could do things he never thought he could do. Juan’s hopes for his future are to be wealthy and to be great. In the off-season for landscaping, Juan is on staff with PowerCorpsPHL.
