Meet Cohort 2 Crews: Blue Magic

Russell Hicks (Crew Leader)

Russell hails from West Philadelphia and serves as an Operations Manager and Crew Leader for PowerCorpsPHL.  He is committed to serving as a leader who positively impacts the lives of others.  Russell enjoys networking and developing relationships with professionals from various backgrounds that allow him to establish effective strategic partnerships with mutual goals in mind.  He is proud of being able to help impact young adults in urban communities by being part of a team of great leaders in their respective fields of expertise.  Russell looks forward to the role he will play in developing PowerCorpsPHL members for roles in the green economy.

Osman Fofanah (Assistant Crew Leader)

Osman served as a member of the first cohort and is now serving his second term with PowerCorpsPHL, this time as an Assistant Crew Leader. 

Osman is a self-motivated young man who prides himself in being ambitious and hard working.  PowerCorpsPHL is important to him because it is providing Osman an opportunity to become a better person by taking bigger steps in life and make positive changes in the communities in which he serves.  In the future, Osman hopes to be enrolled in school full-time and to develop a clear sense of what he ultimately wants to accomplish in life.

Clarence Allen

Clarence enjoys that his time serving with PowerCorpsPHL provides him with the opportunity to get hands-on work experience and meet new people. He is happy to be serving with the program and proud that he is doing something positive with his time. In the future, Clarence is interested in continuing to build upon his career and hopes that he may be able to obtain a leadership role with PowerCorpsPHL in the future.

Keyzett Brockington-Ham

Blunt, silly, intelligent, hardworking, persistency

Keyzett is excited to be working hard alongside peers with backgrounds similar to her own, serving together to beautify Philadelphia and its communities. She is a proud high school graduate and a proud mother raising a healthy daughter. She also takes pride in giving back to her community. Keyzett aspires to continue onto post-secondary education and one day become a forensic scientist. She is interested in working to help clear the cases of innocent men and women that have been incarcerated.

Katrell Holmes

Age: 22

Hardworking, focused and determined

Katrell is proud that he is moving his life in a positive direction as a member of PowerCorpsPHL. He is excited to be performing the physical labor that is involved with his service. He is also happy to be able to use this opportunity to improve his professionalism and soft skills. Katrell is interested in serving another term with PowerCorpsPHL and working with the Philadelphia Water Department in the future.

Paul Johnson

Age: 24
What are some words that describe you?
“I am just a hard working paper chaser and believe the work and music I make is universal.”

Paul is excited that PowerCorpsPHL provides him and his peers with opportunities to learn and succeed. He says the program serves as a second home and appreciates the chance to work in a crew with people that have backgrounds similar to his own. His service has inspired him to become more in tune with his community. He is really proud of his team because he feels that everyone is full of potential. Paul plans to return to serve another six month term with PowerCorpsPHL. He feels that this experience could prepare him for a potential career path with the Philadelphia Water Department. He aspires to start his own business in music and community building.

Jason Klenk

Jason feels that PowerCorpsPHL is exciting because of the opportunities that may come with it. He is proud of his work. In the future, Jason aspires to own his own construction company. He is interested in hiring employees with various disadvantaged backgrounds working with them towards a more positive and healthy future. He is also interested in working with the Philadelphia Water Department.

Benjamin Santiago

Benjamin is proud that he has a chance to give back to his city. He is excited about the chances and opportunities that may exist in his future following his term of service with PowerCorpsPHL. Benjamin aspires to become a youth counselor and serve his community in a positive way.
