Shaneeta Bagley and her crew H2O (aka H-Deuce) are taking PowerCorpsPHL by storm! She continues to maintain her proven and undefeated track record of successful members during and after PowerCorpsPHL and as a result has bragging rights of the following: 1 member in the Sanitation Department of Philadelphia, 3 in the Apprenticeship Program at PWD, 1 in college studying Engineering and is currently working with AKRF in the Green StormWater Infrastructure field, amongst 11 dynamic Corps Members currently setting the precedent for their future with PWD other career opportunities up the pipeline as well! She continues to lead with her fiery passion and exhilarating vigor as she is known for wearing three hats with her team “The Coach, The Mentor, and the Cheerleader.” With her winning attitude, it is clear she came to win, she came to conquer and she came to lead her corps members to greatness. She is proud every time she hears her crew burst into their chant of, “H2O! H2O! Can’t flow without us, nope! Can’t flow with out us, nope! H-Deuceeeeeeee.”

What about PowerCorpsPHL most excites you?
“The number one thing about PowerCorpsPHL that excites me the most is the love that the staff and corps members demonstrate.”

Marcus served as a corps member during Cohort 2 and is now serving his second term with PowerCorpsPHL, this time as an Assistant Crew Leader. He describes himself as strong, confident, committed, motivated and dedicated. He also identifies as original, creative, curious, and intelligent. After his time with PowerCorpsPHL, Marcus aspires to take writing classes, such as journalism and creative writing. He would also like to continue to work with the Philadelphia Water Department, so that he can support himself and his family while he is in school. Marcus is most proud to be a father. “When my 2-year-old son sees my face come through the door, he drops everything and sprints to me, smiling full of bliss and glee. It warms my heart to know that he loves me just as much as I love him.”

Chris Gay

Age: 23
What are you most proud of?
“I am most proud of myself because at first I didn’t believe that I could push myself as far as I did. I came a long way.”

Chris served as a corps member during Cohort 2 and is now serving his second term with PowerCorpsPHL. He feels that the most exciting thing about PowerCorpsPHL is that is provides individuals with the opportunity to change their lives and make a difference in the city. He aspires to continue to serve as an AmeriCorps member as well as continue to work with the Philadelphia Water Department at the water treatment plant he is currently stationed at. Chris describes himself as humble, wise, respectful, dedicated and a leader.

Shakeel Parker

Age: 22
What do you want to do after PowerCorpsPHL? Or who do you aspire to be?
“After PowerCorpsPHL, I want to continue to learn and grow in life. I want to be a role model to young adults. I want to gain and keep the respect of my family because I can support them. I always want to be the best to my ability so that I can show my sons how a man conducts himself.”

Shakeel finds it exciting to be able to build friend and family-like relationships with his peers, fellow corps members and staff. He is also enthusiastic to have the opportunity to serve communities throughout the city of Philadelphia. He loves the positivity that PowerCorpsPHL exudes, the active nature of the work, and the chance to gain knowledge. Shakeel is proud that he took the initiative to join PowerCorpsPHL and work to build himself up to become a better person. He is also proud that he’s never given up and he looks forward to graduating the program. Shakeel describes himself as humble, strong-willed, punctual, proud, respectful and an achiever.

Tyrese Gray

Age: 19
What are some words that describe you?
Hands on, creative, hard worker, love trying new things

Tyrese is excited to work with the Philadelphia Water Department as a PowerCorpsPHL member. He feels blessed to have the opportunity to gain new skills and work alongside professionals.

What about PowerCorpsPHL most excites you?
“That I get to make a difference in the lives of people life and I could be remembered for something great!”

Robert identifies as disciplined, loyal and dedicated. He aspires to be hard worker and work his way up in any company that hires him. He wants to be someone that others look up to and can say nothing but positive things about and to be someone that his peers will see and think, “If he can do it, so can I.” Robert feels blessed to have the opportunity to work closely with the Philadelphia Water Department and gain new skills during his time as a corps member.

Justin Davis

What are you most proud of?
“I am proud of myself and trying to stay out of trouble.”

Justin finds is exciting that PowerCorpsPHL aims to connect people to pathways for a career, not just a job. He is also interested in the opportunity to meet people that have different backgrounds and have come together to try to do something positive. He describes himself as honest, hardworking, dedicated, punctual and understanding. Justin is interested in serving a second term with PowrCorpsPHL and exploring the possibility of continuing to work with the water department.

Dimitri Forte

Age: 25
What are some words that describe you?
“I am a respectful and motivated person.”

Dimitri is proud to have the opportunity to be a part of PowerCorpsPHL. He aspires to work as an electrician with the Philadelphia Water Department.

Jeremiah Tomlin

Age: 20
What are some words that describe you?
“Smart, dedicated, well-organized, hard worker”

Jeremiah finds it exciting to work in conjunction with PowerCorpsPHL’s service partners, the Philadelphia Water Department and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, and to be introduced to other programs such as TreeKeepers. He hopes that the trainings he participates in and the connections he make may lead him to a career. Jeremiah aspires to one day work as an electrician with the Philadelphia Water Department.

Andre Collier

Age: 22
What are some words that describe you?
“Brave, wild, wise, optimistic, stern”

Andre finds it exciting that PowerCorpsPHL connects corps members to hands-on training and mentoring. He plans to open a general contacting business in the future and hopes to hire PowerCorpsPHL alum. Andre is proud of himself for making his family proud by acclimating to an honest lifestyle.

“Small but I have a big heart, hard worker, team player and if I have to I can be a leader.”

Keith served as a corps member during Cohort 2 and is now serving his second term with PowerCorpsPHL. He is excited by the hard work and the teamwork that he participates in as a corps member. Keith aspires to go to school after he completes his service with PowerCorpsPHL. He is most proud of his son and how well he is doing in sports and school.
