Mabari Byrd (Crew Leader)
Mabari is a talented professional that aims to create a lasting impact for Youth through providing high quality leadership, training, structure, opportunities, and skills that will allow them to develop in ways that empowers them both personally and professionally by strengthening their workforce marketability, sense of community, and overall well-being.
Having been instrumental toward developing PowerCorpsPHL at the ground floor, he has strong knowledgeable in program development, mission building, creating healthy workplace cultures, operational strategies, and increasing overall program effectiveness through the implementation of cross-collaborative approaches geared toward building a healthy workplace culture. As Chairman of PowerCorpsPHL Culture & Climate Committee, he works tirelessly and collaboratively toward fostering a healthy and productive work environment for all of PowerCorpsPHL.
He also possesses a very organic yet purposeful leadership style that is effective on many levels. Mabari relishes opportunities to problem solve, which really speaks to his ability to create and execute effective strategies that engages youth and young adults in a very impactful way. His experience leading both Parks & Rec and Philadelphia Water Green Stormwater Maintenance crews, has helped cultivate this dynamic professional into an impressively versatile professional that brings a wealth of leadership and project management experience to the table.
Mabari strongly advocates for the improvement of employment outcomes for youth, effective mentoring programs for minority males and females, and building capacity to effectively engage youth and community as partners.

I am an enthusiastic, outgoing, intelligent, intellectual, knowledge seeking, and energetic individual who enjoys growth and success and the idea of helping people and also seeing people succeed. I am a Philadelphia native. I originally joined PowerCorps to gain experience and help with beautifying the city. I want to help others succeed and teach about the work and good things that PowerCorps offers. I envision the end game each day. I’m motivated by success and personal growth. I love new things and getting things done after I start them. I look forward to new experiences and facing new challenges. I want youth advocacy to always be apart of my life because youth will forever be the future and if the youth can be met where they are and taught the right way it will be beneficial to society.
My name is Sara Boyd, you can call me Tiny. I’m 19 years old. I was born in Philadelphia, PA. I’m outgoing, ambitious, generous, forgiving, joyous. I can be hard sometimes, but overall I’m soft. I joined PowerCorps because it is a new experience for me and I get to learn new things. It will also help me pay for my college. Hopefully when I graduate, I can become an ACL or Crew Leader. I’m self-motivated, and I motivate my family to do better because I’m doing good. I look forward to gaining knowledge in life. Also, I need a little self-discipline. I want PowerCorps to teach me to further my job experience.
My name is Takerra Burnett, but I go by Tee. I am 21 years old and was born in West Philly. I’m chill and outgoing. I joined PowerCorps because I heard it was a good program so I knew I wanted to do better for my future and I believe this could be a good start. I am motivated by money, my future, and working. I am looking forward to working hard, making money, gaining experience, and having a good attitude toward new things I never did, seen or tried.
I am Lead Corps Member Neis and I am 21 years old. I was born in Philadelphia. I describe myself as unpredictable. I joined PowerCorps to sharpen my skills and get rid of some bad habits. I am motivated by my daughter and her process of becoming a woman. I am looking forward to creating a positive future and lifestyle for me and my daughter.

Well, my name is Koran and I’m 23 years old. I was born and raised in West Philadelphia. I describe myself as a humble, laid back, great father, positive, and a good peer mentor. I joined PowerCorps to get a better chance at life, to get a career and to gain the knowledge and skills to pave the way so my son can have a better life. My son motivates me to do better everyday. After PowerCorps, I hope I’m able to be a part of the PowerCorps family or hopefully place myself in a career field offering full-time employment.

I work harder and I will always get the job done no matter what.
