Jose AcesJose-Aces

My name is Jose, I’m 18 years old and I’m from Kensington in Philadelphia.  I describe myself as talented.  A fun fact is I like to play sudoku.  I joined PowerCorpsPHL to better myself in life.  My unborn child is my motivation.  I’m looking forward to gaining experience in tree care.

Kalieef BrunsonKalieef-Brunson

My name is Kaileef, I’m 23 years old and I was born in North Philadelphia.  I’m an outgoing person, I’m easy to get along with, and I’m very good at basketball.  Allen Iverson is my favorite player ever.  I joined PowerCorpsPHL because I heard to could better me as a person and it can give you opportunities for a career.  Life motivates me, so do my mother and my sisters.  Being on house arrest motivates me to do the right thing so I’ll never be on it again.  I’m looking forward to a better career and an opportunity to feed my family.

Koran DobsonKoran-Dobson

My name is Koran, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Philadelphia.  I enjoy spending time with my son and I enjoy working with others.  I joined PowerCorpsPHL to better myself and to change my community.  My son is my motivation, I want to grow as a man and as a person for him.  I’m looking forward to seeing all my crew members graduate and be successful.

Carlos GonzalezCarlos-Gonzalez

My name is Carlos, I’m 21 years old and I was born in Puerto Rico.  I’m reliable, motivational and encouraging.  A fun fact about me is that I’m self determined and reliable no matter how hard the situation or life gets, I never give up.  My secret talent is playing football and video games.  I joined PowerCorpsPHL to gain more hands on experience and to help prepare myself for the tougher challenges I may face in life.  My older brother who is 34  motivates me.  To see him work hard enough to buy his own house and car motivates me to do even better; if he can do it, then I can do it.  I’m looking forward to completing PowerCorpsPHL and serving my six months with AmeriCorps to become an alumni.  I plan to work hard and stay focused so that one day I can move out and have my own place and car.

Shamel JohnsonShamel-Johnson

My name is Shamel and I’m 23 years old.  I was born in New York but I’m from Philadelphia.  I’m hard working and I’m fun.  A fun fact about me is I am good with making people laugh.  I honestly joined PowerCorpsPHL to make my mom proud of me.  My family motivates me and I motivate myself.  My plan is to do more cohorts after this cohort with PowerCorpsPHL to save my money and apply for school.  I would major in real estate and minor in business management.  By the age of 27 I want to own my own business.

Keonne JonesKeonne-Jones

My name is Keonne, I’m 20 years old, I was born in Philadelphia.  I think I’m a hard working person.  I enjoy doing outdoor and hands on work, like carpentry and construction.  I joined PowerCorpsPHL to improve my personal skills and to create a better path for my future.  My brothers, sisters, mom mom, and my past all motivate me.  I’m looking forward to gaining job opportunities and tuition for school with PowerCorpsPHL.

Eric PopeEric-Pope

My name is Eric, I’m 21 years of age and I was born and raised in the city of Philadelphia.  I’m a hard working and self-motivated person.  I’m very reliable and outgoing.  A fun fact is that I work on cars.  I joined PowerCorpsPHL for a second chance.  After a few ups and downs, it has been very hard to find a job that won’t judge me on my background.  A friend told me PowerCorpsPHL helps people with criminal backgrounds, so I wanted to try it.  Something that motivates me is my oldest brother and wanting to bring a change to the world I live in.  My last motivation is leaving a trail for the kids after me and lending them a positive role and hand.  In PowerCorpsPHL, I’m looking forward to growth.  I can’t say how important it is to grow as an individual.
