Industry Academies/PWD

In collaboration with PWD, we developed our first Industry Academy in 2017: Stormwater Infrastructure. This career pathway connects to several in-demand positions that can be accessed at the entry-level with moderate on-the-job training (OJT) instead of a college degree.

Masonry and Carpentry Academies

In partnership with Eastern State Penitentiary, Rebuild, CareerLink, and trade unions, we developed 6-week Masonry and Carpentry Academies, providing direct pathways to full-time employment and union apprenticeships.

Concourse Lake

Several crews worked together over the course of 2 months at Centennial Lake to improve aesthetics, sightlines and trail accessibility. They also helped remove invasive species choking out the lake's edge and threatening the concrete barrier that contains the lake.

Montgomery Creek Planting

Foundations members worked with Philadelphia Parks and Rec to reforest near Montgomery Creek, learning to plant and maintain native saplings and live-stake riparian species for erosion control and improved water filtration.
